Frost protection for outside pipe

due to internal changes, the pipework to our outside tap needs to be changed. This will mean it exits to the outside about 1.5m to 2m from the tap, and then run along the outside wall to the tap.

How can I best protect the pipe from freezing in the cold weather?

My thought was to get some pipe lagging and wrap gaffer tape around it to hold in place. Better ideas gratefully accepted

Before the pipework goes outside, cut an isolation valve into the pipework and then it can be turned off and drained down in really cold weather. Or insulate it with good quality armaflex insulation not the cheap s*** from diy centres

Definitely fitting isolation valve, but it will be behind a kitchen cupboard and need to move stuff to get to it. Unlikely that the family will do this regularly so will need to look for another solution.

Guess armaflex seems like a way forward. Anywhere which sells small quantities?
