Please reassure me that I'm not going crackers!! I'm almost certain that the frost stat circuit on our CH system isn't wired correctly.
The frost stat is a Drayton RTS3 (or British Gas FS1 if you prefer), the pipe stat is also Drayton but I can't see a part ID on it.
The frost stat backplate is wired like this:
Brown - Live
Blue - Neutral
Black - Call
Green/Yellow - Earth.
It's presently wired into the junction box like this:
Frost stat:
Brown - Brown on pipe stat
Blue - Neutral
Black - Pump Live
Green/Yellow - Earth
Pipe stat:
Brown - Brown on frost stat
Blue - Heating ZV Brown (call for heat)
Now, as I understand it, this won't work as the frost stat isn't getting a permenant live. The call for heat from the frost stat is going to the pump live when it should be going through the pipe stat.
In my eyes, it should be wired like this:
Frost stat:
Brown - Permenant Live
Blue - Neutral
Black - Brown on pipe stat
Green/Yellow - Earth
Pipe stat:
Brown - Black on frost stat
Blue - Heating ZV Brown.
What say you lot?
Thanks.
