About 5 or six years ago I was finishing off a bathroom doing the silicon joints around the top of the bath and sink and a few other places.
I had the tip of the silicon tube cut to perfection and finished off with my trusty finger moistened with spit. It's how I've always done it and I've always been pleased with the result.
The plumber said 'why don't you get a Fugenmeister, they're really good. I had a look on youtube and they did seem pretty good so I bought 1 set, just the 45o profile, I think from Screwfix.
Anyway, they've been on the van for over 5 years and I've never been able to bring myself to use them, possibly because I'm a bit of a traditionalist, possibly because they're German.
Anyway this morning I swung by a house this morning to silicon a kitchen worktop that I'd tiled and grouted earlier in the week.
As I pulled up, I thought dammit, I'm going to give them Fugenmeisters a try. I did, and they were very very good, I shall be buying some more.
