I am finding that when I run BBC iPlay or watch You Tube the image freezes when on full screen. I can hit ESC to jump back to the small screen and then enlarge it again but it will, subsequently, freeze further.
This never seemed to happen prior to downloading XP SP3. Anyone suffering similar symptoms?

Cheers for any ideas. ;)

See if there is an update for your graphics card. Does it only happen on full screen?

I can't see any applicable downloads so far so I'll just keep looking. It's an NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT if that's of any relevance. Cheers.

Check whether yopu have the latest driver installed.

I have the same card as you.
Start -> Run -> type devmgmt.msc in the window and click OK
In Device Manager, click +Display Adaptors
Double click NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT
Click Driver tab

Mine reads Date 27/03/2009
Version 6.14.11.8250

If yours is an earlier version, click to Update Driver.

PS Mine does not lock up on full screen unless it is streaming slowly, and I have XP SP3.

Did that, Dave, and got:

Driver Provider: NVDIA

Driver Date: 06/09/2007

Driver Version: 6.14.11.561

Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publish

So I hit the Update Driver button and got this:

Cannot Continue Hardware Update Wizard

The wizard could not find a better match for your hardware than the software you currently have installed

Choose what you want to do.

To search again another location, click Back.

Bit surprised to find that there was no update available since September 2007

There I was, enduring absolute rubbish web access in Windows7 RC running in M$ virtual PC 2007 with all the essential, SP, bits... Hosted by XP Pro Sp 'the max'.

"Nah, based on different OS (from XP) ... Cannot expect better" I was given to understand ....

Wits end - saw this - largely ignored post.
...Use opendns..."cfosspeed" and "Dsl Speed" they'll make your internet connection lightning fasT!...

"Snake Oil !!" Was the cry.

I tried one option - Cfosspeed - 30 day trial.
Seriously -

That is 7.4 Gbits/sec - my profile is 7.5 Gb/s !!

I had tried all ways to get BBC iPlayer jitter free in Win7 - as in all other OS's virtual and real on my mc - no way... No problem now.

Tried all the normal methods TCPOptimiser etc - reinstalls - etc etc.

The 'shaper' seems to have done 'the trick' iPlayer runs like silk across a virgins left thigh !

So, to whoever posted 'Cfosspeed' elsewhere in the 'cloud' - cheers !

BTW It un-installs without problems.

Just been to that link I posted above and ran the automatic check.
It found that I had:
186.11 Desktopwinxp 32bit
and pointed out that the latest was:
186.18 etc.
so I downloaded and installed. No problems so you could see if that update improves your full screen viewing.

Sorry about the delay on this but I finally managed to download an update driver from Dell. Unfortunately this has not eliminated the problem - the screen still freezes. The driver ino, though, is now

Driver Provider: NVDIA

Driver Date: 22/10/2008

Driver Version: 6.14.11.7678

Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publish

Will get on to Dell. In the meantime any other ideas much appreciated. ;)
