Hi,

I have a new Bosch Single Oven HBN131250B installed and I am trying to clarify the fuse required.
The Hob is Gas and seperate.

Cannot find any information on rating in the manual which is very strange?

On the website it does state the power draw
"Max. current draw (A): 13"

So presumably this can go into a 13 amp fuse! (or even plugged into a socket?)

The old oven was already wired with 6mm cable on a dedicated radial circuit, with a seperate shutoff switch - this stays the same.

But the fuse is in an old style wylex CU, with push fit wired fuses. Can I insert a new MCB into the board. Or will I have to have a separate one connected?

thanks

you can buy a 16A MCB to fit. It is called the "Wylex Standard" range. you must also replace the coloured shield behind it and this will be supplied with the MCB. Turn off the main switch and check that all circuits are dead before you start work. You do not need to open the CU cover.

The dust cover that fits over the fuses will not fit back on afterwards as the MCBs are a little deeper.

If this a new appliance. It must have the installation instructions.
I have searched the Bosh web site & cannot find this model.

If there are no instructions, contact the seller.

If it was designed for the UK market & suitable for a 13amp socket it would have been fitted with a 13amp plug top.

I found installation instructions on the Bosch web site.

It says quite clearly:

Connecting the oven to the mains

Before using the oven for the first time,
you must ensure that your domestic
electrical system is earthed and that it
meets all current safety standards. Your
appliance should be installed by a
certified electrician. ---- Maybe worth doing that.

The spec says its rated at 13A max but the INSTRUCTIONS also says a few other things like:

The cable for connecting to the mains should be type H05 V V-F or higher. The yellow and green cable, which is used for the earth connection, should be connected first and should be longer than
the others.

and

In order to comply with normal safety regulations, the installer should ensure that there is a disconnection switch with all the poles having a contact gap of at least 3 mm. This is unnecessary in the case of a connection using an earthed plug, if this is accessible to the user.

and

The oven should be connected according to the wiring diagram shown
on the oven’s rating plate. Note the connection voltage shown on the plate.

Thats as much help as I can be but its all there in the documentation that you should already have..
