Fusebox won't reset

Hi

I cannot get this MCB to reset.

I tried to rewire a previously blown power tool and it tripped the breaker.

But now no matter what I do I cannot get that to come back on.

I've turned everything off connected to the kitchen sockets, but no luck at all.

Does that breaker need replacing?

Turn off the RCD to the right of it.
Can the MCB be switched on now?

If yes - then there is still a fault which must be located and repaired.
If not - the MCB is busted.

Yes.

Yes. Turned off the RCD. Turned off everything on that one. But won't flip back on.

Some MCBs that have been tripped then need to have the lever pressed fully downwards before the MCB can be reset.

Strangely. Once the wires were removed from the MCB and then put back in, it worked fine.

Unfortunately it cost me a Saturday electrician call out to discover that!
