have just tried to install the shower it will work when the cover is off but when i put the cover on i have to hold in the on/off button to make the thing work,any answers!

the cover is either not going flush as it should or it is fouling something
The design of gainsborough showers is crap! its not like say tritton where you have the back of the casing that contains the 'showery bits' and a cover that fits on the front of that... you fasten the 'showery bits' to the wall and have a one part casing that fits over that
If the wall is not perfectly flat you get edges that have gaps, and if you seal them you can't pop the cover off the shower without having to do it, same with the water entry pipe when it enters from the top, you cut out a pre-weakend U shape, not only are there some small gaps round the pipe that would be better sealed, there is a bloody big gap behind the pipe*!
Gonna stick with tritton from now on, tbh
*It does appear that any water that goes down here will pass behind the plastic 'gear tray' of the shower, but ergh... don't like the idea
