Hi, I installed a Galaxy 2-12 myself a couple of years ago and up until this last week it's been running fine. Basically the aux fuse keeps blowing causing the prox panel and PIRs to stop working and the main box keeps beeping. Not sure if it's a coincidence but we had a smart meter change recently and northern power grid replace the incoming supply connection. Any help much appreciated.

The fact the fuse keeps blowing suggest something is happening to that circuit.

How frequently is it blowing?
When the smart meter was installed/changed did the problems start?
When was the last time the back up battery replaced?

It blows within a few days from what I've noticed. Not timed it though. It seems a bit of a coincidence that the problem started after the electrical work. Not changed the battery but it's only been in a couple of years if that.

go to few alarm systems after smart meters have been installed and cables have been damaged or pulled, occasionally they false alarm, or in you case short out.

If you can trace the new smart meter installation and where your cables run, you might be able to find something dodgy.

Thanks, the guy got bored down in the cellar and tied my alarm cables together cos they were a mess so maybe he did something. Wouldn't have thought that would have caused anything though. You don't think it's the transformer or battery?

No, not the battery as it has its own fuse. Most likely he has caused a short somewhere. Inspect the cabling where he has tied off. Get someone to watch the keypad power while you move each cable one at a time. Intermittent faults are a pain to resolve...

You need to look at the cables you believe have been interfered with as that's the most likely place the short is occurring based on your account.

I am aware that some smart meter installations are thrown in and no care is taken and cables damaged hence asking you check the installation route.

Also aware that some units send daily meter readings and this has been known to trip out the electrics. Happened to my dad at 5am every morning once they turned on the readings to be sent, they denied it for some time and had to push hard to get it resolved, in the end smart meter was removed and replaced with a new normal meter.
Hence asking the frequency of the issue.

Thanks for your replies. I'll check cables etc and see if I can find a fault
