Good afternoon.
I am looking for some advice.
Currently having an extension built to the side of the house.
I’ve queried with the builders the fact that the exterior wall ends before the roof with a gap existing between it and the fascia.

Builder states this is normal and that the fire blanked closes off the gap.

However I have concerns this is goi g to lead to moisture getting behind the wall.

Can anyone confirm if this is normal?

Masking along bricks to keep clean and run mastic along. Pull tape. That will fill.
My house is similar although my top corse of bricks is no very straight.

We always clean the masonry off then trap our soffit board down with timbers fixed to the rafter ends....
