Quick question,

What's the best way to deal with a gap under the skirting after removing carpet and going with floorboards?

My wife mentioned some sort of foam stripe but I was thinking some sort of sealer? Any advice?

As last post, have a look at either 15.mm or 20.mm quadrant, or even a differing profile rectangular or similar, the age old accepted profile is a simple quadrant, quarter round and not that costly either?

As above, beading. The previous owners of our house did this in one of the rooms. Either match the colour to the floor or paint them the same colour as the skirting.

Just need to get rid of the obvious black Shadow gap, you could use foam strip, or caulk, or as above beading if you are happy with the look of that.
Personally I'd use flexible caulk, or even scribe and cut the skirting and move it down if you want a top notch job
