Ok so im taking down my old garage (single skin brick on a slab) to make way for a bigger one

I'm puzzled over estimating the weight or size of skips required (or grab hire

Current garage is approx 5.5m long, 3m wide, 2m tall

If a grab hire can take 16tonne .. How many of these (or skips) do U rekon I'll need?

I'm keeping the roof for another project so only 3 walls going

Weigh a brick, there's about 60 per square meter, so there's the weight of your bricks.

You can then make a similar estimate about your concrete slab if you know the rough thickness, I bet Google will tell you the weight of a cubic meter of conc.

Then the grab hire can give you a quote

Alternatively you could hire one of those little rock crushers and pulverize it all for hardcore, bit of an exercise in patience though and may not be much or any cheaper.

I'd go for hiring a crusher. Turn your old garage into the sub base for the slab. No skips, no bags of MOT.
