Hi all, appreciate if anyone could give me an advice on my situation.

In my garage there is a 1 gang light switch, when I open the box to look at the wiring situation, I found that the switch is not only controlling the light but also wiring to another twin socket in the garage. I have attached a photo for all your reference, it seems that the input wire is a 3 phase wire containing Brown, Grey and Black wires. And when looking at the wiring, both Brown wires (from supply & the one to the socket) are connected together at "NIN" and1 Blue to socket and 1 Grey from supply connected at "LIN". May I ask whether it's correct or not? As I understand, Brown should be Live and Blue (or Grey in 3 phase) should be Neutral.

Besides, my ultimate goal is to change the 1 gang to a 2 gang switch by using the extra gang to control an additional Floodlight which will be attached to the garage wall. In such case, can I still do this by an easy switch over or do I need to add a new switch by cutting the light wire in the middle and do with a function box?

You are correct, thay are reversed and shoud be corrected.

Assuming the supply from the consumer unit is 16 or 20A, the light therefore requires a 3A or 5A fuse, it appears this may a switched fused connection unit for that fuse

The correct thing to do would be to add an additional switch, either the same as you have or a 2G switch after the existing switch.

When you've swapped the Lin and Nin around fit another Fused connection unit next to that one (using a 20mm coupler and 2 bushes) fed from Lin and Nin to feed your new light.

Obviously power off before swapping anything.
