Hi
I am planning on building a block garage on a raft/slab foundation in my driveway, 4.5m x 6.5m. There used to be an old garage there which I had knocked down a few years ago.
It will be done similar to the build in this link, but I will have a flat rubber roof:

I've often read on here/other places that a 150mm base with 300mm round the edges is considered inadequate. but I am on very rocky ground, solid rock in parts, and also close to a 15ft old stone boundary wall so wouldn't want a trench dug near it. In this case would these specs be adequate?
Ive been quoted £680+VAT for this concrete, which with not too much digging required gets me ready to build at a reasonable cost.
Also I note on that build he had 1 course of engineering bricks with a DPC above before starting on blocks, is this good practice?
