Hi.

We have an old garage with some kind of corrugated aluminium roof. It is starting to leak so we are going to replace it.

It currently has 3x2 rafters spaced about 600mm apart and then some 7x2 timber laid horizontally from wall to wall fastened to the rafters. I am not sure why such small timber was used for the rafters.

We are looking to change the roof to one of the lightweight tile options such as these,

https://www.roofingmegastore.co.uk/britmet-villatile-bramble-brown.html

I cannot see anything on the site though to state what size timber is needed for the rafters?

The dimensions of the roof are,

rise = 1100mm
run = 2800mm
length is about 5600mm

From my days at school, this gives a pitch of about 22 degrees. So the rafter length will be about 3000mm

Can anyone advise what size rafter I would need to use? The weight of the tile is 7kg per m2

Many thanks
