Garage roof

Hi

I've got a brick garage with a traditional tiled pitched roof. The garage gets very dirty & dusty. I assume the dirt gets in under the eaves which are open to the outside. Does this sound plausible?
So I was thinking of closing off the air gap. I'll probably use upvc soffits.

Will this cause me any problem with ventilation and the roof timbers?

Any further advice welcome.

No. And it wont stop the dust and dirt either.
