Garage window replacement

I need to replace the window in my garage i went to wickes but i can not buy the size needed so it looks like i have to make one i am no joiner but i am willing to have go all i want is a frame 2ft 6 high by 4 foot long and glazed not bothered about an opening pane
which wood is good for this type of job i have a lot of soft wood in my garage which would do if presered or is this wood no good

I thought Wickes do a bespoke window service...give them the dimensions and they make it for you.
