I'm part way through installing a 4000 litre rain water tank, but due to location constrains i've only managed to get the bottom of the tank about 750mm off the ground, so I've not got a huge amount of pressure. It's fine for filling a watering can and i've plumbed in a couple of stand pipes in 25mm MDPE for this. But i'd like to be able to use it for washing the cars and running a irrigation system for watering the veg patch and greenhouse.
Can anyone recommend a pump for this i was looking at the Stuart Turner pumps as i've used them before for showers and loft bathroom boosters, but they are very expensive and i'm not sure if they will handle the dirt in the rainwater. Can anyone recommend any other makes? For the irrigation I ideally need 700l/h, and for washing the car i'd like more than the 9psi (0.62bar) i get from the mains, ideally 5 bar or even a bit more would be good. I was going to install an auto pressure switch which holds the pipework under pressure, so as soon as a taps opened the pump starts.
