Can anyone tell me if its ok or not to add a dedicated feed to wireless pir operated lights (300watt max) from a ring main spur. The feed through to the garden would have a 3amp fused on/off switch . Barring that could the feed be plugged (3amp fuse} directly into the socket (consumer unit has rcd protection} Thanks in advance

spuring off the ring via a fused connection unit IS the way it should be done.

couple of things, use arctic flex to connect to the actual light
point the light down wards so as not to annoy your neighbours
dont mountthe light high up or it WILL annoy the neighbours

Thank you Breezer for your advice and prompt reply. Want to get it checked for P3 and using armoured underground cable don't want to have to move the feed position if wrong.. Is it a socket off and existnig spur thats a no no?. Out of interest would the same method be correct for a feed from a 4mm sq radial circuit socket as well?. This wireless pir and receiver I've got from screwfix {£40) seems brill.
