Hi All,

Any ideas how to have grass growing in our new home. I’m new to gardening and this looks like a huge job. Thanks.

Since it’s already established so to speak, you may be better with grass seed

As above. Go round with a hand fork and remove any weeds.
Go over bare patches with a larger fork, you can just loosen the soil a little by sticking the fork in halfway and rocking it back and forth.
Make lots of light puncture marks with the fork.
Sprinkle your seed all over, rake some topsoil over the top. Water regularly. If it's an area with poor drainage consider adding some sharp sand mixed in with the topsoil.
