Hi
I’ve been digging out my garden and was originally planning to build a mortar-less retaining wall myself with a friend. Things have dragged on and the friend can no longer help plus I’m up against it time wise to get complete.
I’ve gone to some builders for quotes on building a concrete block wall. I’ve been put off rendered walls after reading some comments about them. So my question is what do people suggest? Wood sleepers, concrete blocks rendered? Or blocks behind with bricks on the front?
I’ve been told £4000 for a block wall and £7000 for a the wall to have red bricks on show. I don’t own a million pound house so cost is more important than appearance.
My earth is very chalky as you can see and this has been exposed for over a year with no issues. Any help would be appreciated
