Garden shed/outbuilding size

Hi all

Are these any restrictions on size for a garden building?

My brother has about 12m x 8m taken up by bushes at the back of his garden and is thinking of building a shed out of blocks and then cladding it.

Any advice appreciated.

Have a look at your local council. There's no restriction on size of buildings, up to a point, after that you will need planning permission. Your local council web pages should tell you the size that is ok without permission.

Perfect

Looks like 30sqm floor area wihin permitted development. Think he was thinking of going bigger, so will have to get planning permission.

Would 4" blocks be ok for this, or would you recommend 6"
