Can anyone give advice on this issue:
Just moved into a house recently, Gas Central Heating programmed to come on at 6am to 8am and 6pm to 10pm. It comes on in the morning okay. It comes on in the evening okay and switches off at 8pm. If I set it to on (manual on) after this period, it does not heat house. In morning, it does.

I have checked the programmer - British Gas Model UP1 - and this is set for times: Phase 1 0600-0800, Phase 2 1200-1200 Phase 3 1800-2200.

The system contains: the Model UP1, a Boiler in the garage, a thermostat near the boiler (TLM Sunvic Temp Range -15 to +10 deg C), a thermostat at the base of stairs.

I have reset the programmer and reprogrammed the times and still this happens.

Any ideas or advice appreciated.

Not familiar with a BG UP1, it's probably just rebadged.

So does the progammer have lights indicating a programmer ON time and does the heating light go off at 8.00 PM? or does the light stay on?

Are you sure the heating tempertaure is sufficient by 8.00 PM and the room thermostat has turned off the boiler? Perhaps you have additional heating eg gas fire keeping the hallway warm? What if you crank up the room 'stat...does it come back on?
