Hi, not sure if this post is in the right place but as it's to do with Gas plumbing, I thought this would be the best place for it.

I'm renewing the kitchen at the moment and have bought a gas hob and a seperate electric double oven. I bought a rubber pipe for the gas hob which fits into the gas outlet pipework and connects this to the hob.

Is this safe? of should the pipe be a copper one as there will obviously be a certain amount of heat coming from the electric oven below it?

Many thanks.

Well its wrong on two counts!

Firstly, gas hobs should normally be connected with copper!

Secondly, only a gas registered engineer should be installing any gas pipework.

Do the right thing and call one!

Tony

PS Does your hob have an FFD ?
