Hiya,

Planning to get rid of my electric ceramic hob and replace it with a gas one. My question relates to the electric cord on the gas hob (for ignition), most gas hobs require a FCU with a 3amp fuse. However i do not have a spare FCU, my only one is connected to a cooker hood.

Can I attach a plug to this cord and fit a 3a fuse and plug it into a normal power socket instead?

why are you not using the electric hobs old connection? you can probably change the outlet to a FCU or a socket & 3amp plug

Thanks for the reply, the electric hob has a 30amp feed via a 32amp neon switch. Its just that i already have a spare power socket nearby.

You can use the socket, or you can replace the 30A switch with a socket outlet or FCU.

It's up to you.
