As this falls under gas I thought it would be best placed here.

I am looking at new kitchens and have had a few designs by various companies and when it comes to the planning of the gas hob I am getting conflicting information. For instance if a cupboard is lower than 460mm above the hob it needs to be 50mm wide correct?

The person making the design said this was only advisory and does not actually have to meet that? Surely the person fitting the hob would refuse to commission it if it was not correct?

I don't want to waste time having a nice design made finding it needs adjusting on the day so just want some clarification please.

From what I have read it has to be;

Extractor 760mm above hob, if anything either side is lower than 460mm it needs to be 50mm away?

If there is something directly next to the hob like a cupboard is this also 50mm?

Thanks

If you know what hob you want, have a look at the fitting instructions.

Thanks so manufacturer instructions are what the installer needs to follow? The 2 pictures are from the installation instructions.

My interpretation is minimum height extractor 650mm, cupboards 400mm, 150mm away from anything either side and 55mm away from back wall.
