I will be getting a new gas cooker installed tomorrow by a gas safe engineer, when he is finished does he have to give me a certificate or something so i can keep in case there are any problems.

A reciept perhaps, and some sort of guarantee?

I think the installed appliance is to be registered with Gas Safe. Some of the more older gentlemen here will confirm.

under corgi you were meant to notify as they were greedy bastards but was never a req of building regs and gas safe don't require you to register a cooker instal.

I always issue a certificate after gas work but it's not a legal requirement.

Does the same rules apply to us folk who live in Northern ireland

Thanks guys for taking the time to reply.
Got the cooker installed this morning the engineer said he never gives certificates but gives you a 12 month warranty, he done a good tidy job and he was not hard to pay, so im one happy chappy. :D :D :D
