What do currently building regs say about running gas pipes through a roof ? I am extending a single story flat roof and it will incorporate an existing gas pipe into it that is running across the external wall. What are the current building regs on running gas pipes through roofs ?

Might have been better placed in the plumbing forum, but I digress. Will the roof space be accessible, eg a loft hatch?

I would think a loft is a "ventilated space" so correctly installed should be OK. Going to be down to the opinion of the gas safe installer on site though.

The building regs don't cover gas pipework. You need to refer to the Gas Safety Regulations and the ACoP.

Providing the pipe is properly supported, there are no issues.
In domestic situations there is no requirement to mark the pipe - but it clearly makes sense to use Gas ID tape .
Also ensure treee is no trip hazard etc
