3600 x 1040 divided by the time in seconds for one revolution of meter dial. Then divide this by 3412 to give KW gross. When filling in the benchmark and the gas rate is required in metres cubed per hour as opposed to KW how do you convert the KW to metres cubed/hour ?

Forget all that corgi bo**ocks just remember these:

For ft³ meters

1100/seconds for 1 revolution = gross Kw

102/seconds for 1 revolution = m³/hr

and use this one for digital meters (normally measure over 2 minutes)

38.75 x m³ difference
----------------------------- = Gross Kw
time in seconds

m³ difference over 2 minutes x 30 = m³/hr

and

35.31 = 1 m³ or 1 ft³ = 0.0283 m³

run appliance on full , take initial reading, take second reading after 2 minutes multiply by 30 then multiply by 10.76 = kw/hr

is WRONG!!!

It's just kilowatts, or kW.

Magic numbers are 1098 for imperial and 321 for metric meters.

I.E. U6

divided 1098 by time taken in secs for one revolution of the dial

or E6

multiply reading taken over two mins by 321.

Tony.

Or just look at the chart ad save the brain cell for more important things
