Gas usage with Housewarmer economy 44 boiler

Well done!

Problem, what problem?

Here is the most recent tracker pricing graph, dotted lines are the CAP prices, which most people are having to pay. Up and down solid line below them, the Tracker cost, for electric and gas. The Tracker is quite high at the moment, due to the lack of wind to blow the wind generators around, and the lack of solar power due to little sunlight.

Now get some Smart Meters installed, Then ask to be moved to the Tracker, ASAP, to start saving. I think I heard that once you apply for the Smart Meters to be installed, they can put you on the Tracker Tariff, but calculating your each days consumption somehow, until they get actual readings. Best talk to Octopus about it..

https://octopriceuk.vercel.app/tracker is useful to show you these cost graphs....
Hi H,
Sorry to disappoint you, but, I re-checked the fuel prices of my existing supplier compared to Octopus, and mine was cheaper, so I'll carry on in my simple way of reading the old meter, and paying as I go along.
I'll send you the £50 from the money I save NOT ;)

Disappointed, me? Never!

I really cannot see how you can possibly be on a cheaper tariff than me, unless you have a very special fix, from a few years ago. As I understood it, you are paying the CAP price, to BG(?) for your energy - and the Octopus Tracker tariff, that I am on, and the tariff I suggested you could go on, is very much cheaper than that. The graph of costings of the two, which I posted, more than confirms that as a fact.

No problem at all, I don't need the contribution at all, I was simply trying to make it easy for you to switch, and save yourself some money.

I was just pushing Octopus as a supplier, because they are the cheapest, and most competitive energy supplier, at the moment, and you, for some strange reason, seemed terrified of switching suppliers. Fear of switching, is what allows suppliers to charge you a little more, than they might otherwise be able to. As may be aware, I make businesses compete hard for my custom, be it banking, insurance, broadband, or energy etc.. You stick where you are, and pay the extra cost. Absolutely no point in complaining about your energy costs, then when someone tries to help you to reduce them, say you are happy paying what you are paying..

Hi H,
I had switched, but it hadn't finalised, as I had missed a number out of the form, so I'm not terrified of changing.

I was asking about the efficiency of my 30 year old boiler, not particularly the supply costs.

Thanks for your efforts, I'll re-consider when I have a minute.

OK. To be honest, reading the Smart Meter thread, I thought you had been made to change your mind about the switch, by all the silly conspiracy theories, and absolute nonsense in there.

Hi H,
I try to avoid social media, and sites that smell of conspiracies, as I've seen enough over my life time to get me over the novelty.

Tomorrow, for the entire day, those on the Octopus Tracker tariff, leccy is near half the CAP price. For those subscribed to it, there is also, a totally free leccy, period, from 7 to 9am, but that may be subject to area? All due to the surplus, caused by the predicted high winds tomorrow.

Hi H,
Nice for you!
Lots of cooking, charging vehicles and heaters, I imagine.
AI and Bitcoin will soon be using the spare stuff.
