Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can wire a Gen4 alarm and a vocaliser together?

I cant seem to see how you would do it from the control pannel. I had a sterling10 alarm but when ever the alarm goes off after a few minutes it over heats and i have to take the fuse out to stop it. So I am going to get a gen 4 control pannel and key pad but keep everything else from my alarm.

Any advise is welcome i'm not a pro but I get the basics of wiring - I'm a sparky by trade.

many thanks

Andy

What over heats on the Stirling 10 ?
That is the make of the voice dialler ?

hi its a pyronix vocaliser-
in regards to the over heating side its part of the circuit board - its dis-coloured and very hot - large compacitor by the looks of it. I inherited the alarm from previous owner so don't really know much about it. I know pyronix no longer make them as I phoned them for a new circuit board. To be honest the alarm has been a pain for the last 4 years different things failing on it. I know it was installed like 1998 or 2000 ish.

thanks

my understanding is-
I can fir the Gen 4 Mini to the vocaliser as they are compatable to all alarms. Is this right?

There seems to be only 3 wires needed. Power +/- and then i believe its the INT. is this correct? why do you leave abort and set blank?

many thanks

hi JO

i have one in the van i took out of an office a few months ago, I thought rather than paying £100 for a new one I could use that.

What would you recommend?

Texecom Elite 24
You can have gsm text messages or ability to connect to Texecom Connect and control panel remotely from your phone

Yea but then your buying more things for it. I have everything, already in place and it is as simple as changing the pannels and keypad over. The vocaliser is already in place it works and is programmed. I just want an easy life and a simple change over. My understanding is I can get another pyronix alarm or a Gen 4 alarm panel. They will all work in the same way as the wiring is very simular. I deally I would like a Visonix wireless system inbut thats just a waste of money with all the hardware in place for this one.

my other problem is finding the wiring manual for the vocaliser - cant find it anywhere.
