Hello all,

This is my first post on this forum however I think there may be more in the future based on what I have got coming up.

I am in the throws of buying my first house :D and I will probably upgrade the central heating system after we move in. The house is a two up two down victorian property with one bathroom and there is just two of us living there. At present it has a dated back boiler with storage tanks etc.

My question is what would be the best way of upgrading this and what to? We want to remove the backboiler because the fireplace is quite ugly because of it. Should we go for a combi/condensing due to the size/cost etc?

Also I am a bit of a DIY fanatic and I love doing thigs but I have never done Central Heating. How hard would it be to remove the back boiler and install a new one e.g. combi. I know the gas side of things has to be done by a corgi registered person however the rest could be done by me????

Any help would be gratefully received.

Many Thanks ;)

as you love doing things may i suggest that YOU do a search on these forums, try starting with "combi advice"

this is a very usefull / helpful forum, but some questions have been asked before , before , before, bef.................................

I hope you are aware that you can only get a CORGI to commission the boiler if you have a certificate from the building control department for the installation.

No one in their right mind will commission it otherwise.
