The Energenie MIH0014 is a relay, it can have three times directly programmed in, and you can select which days of the week they are active for, you can over ride with up to three remote controls and any phones, tablets, or computers through the hub, plus add IFTTT programs to it.

So with a combi boiler replacing the Programmer with the Energenie MIH0014 should work, the main idea is to automatic turn heating off and on as we go for caravan holidays, so set for say 70 miles, that's likely 2 hours travel, so house warm when we get home, but not using gas power while we are away.

So now the what if questions etc.
1) At moment a programmable thermostat by-passes the programmer so house will not freeze if programmer is off, would shorting the relay contacts damage the relay?
2) The Energenie sockets auto turn off with a power cut, if using geofencing would having the phone in house auto turn it back on?
3) Can one over ride the geofencing either when returning on motorway so will not take 2 hours to get home from 70 miles away or camping within the 70 miles set.
4) Will it work if either phone (mine or wife's) is within range? and can you even use two phones.

Has anyone used geofencing?
