Geotextile membrane - does it matter if a small area doesn't have any?

Hello, So this is the area that I've dug out for my circular patio. I've used a whacker plate to flatten down the earth and I'm currently laying down a non-woven geotextile membrane on it before the type 1 arrives. Eventually I'll get some gravel to put on top of that.

I made a silly mistake as I only ordered one membrane whereas I thought I'd ordered two so I now have to wait until tomorrow for the other one to turn up.

Due to the shape of the area I am getting a bit of wastage. I haven't worked it out exactly, but there is a chance there might still be a small area that won't have any of the membrane on it. Would this necessarily be a problem?

I was thinking that if it comes to it if I left the area on the top right of the picture with no membrane because that is where people won't be standing all that much then would that be acceptable?

Hopefully it won't come to this, it's just the thought of having to spend another 30 odd quid for a third membrane just to cover a little area seems a bit silly.

Ask yourself what the membrane is there for, what does it stop.

Well I'm a complete novice but I was told it's for separation between the type 1 and the soil underneath.
