Certain products are getting smaller! For example, cadbury dairy milk 250 gram bars are now 230 gram. But no change in price. Hmmmmm.

The same has happened to several washing powders. They were 1kg, now 950 gram etc. Again no change in price.

My feeling is they have reached a psychological price barrier (say, £3.09 on wash powder), above which nobody wants to pay and they will revert to own-brand wash powder. They still need to make more money, so they put less in each box.

The cadbury bars though - thats just sneaky. But if they were going the other way, say 230g to 250g, they would be shouting about it. Now better value! Again though, the psychological price barrier has been reached, £1.85 so they start making the packs smaller.

Its all very un-nerving in my opinion. OK, so whats 20 grams of chocolate, or 50 grams of wash powder, here and there, but add it up, these big companies are facing tough times. We ARE heading for an economic slow down.

Slowdown? That's the understatement of the century (including the last one).

So Cadbury's Dairy Milk is chocolate, is it? Well, we learn something everyday. ;)

Steve its not a new thing those old enough will remember how big some chocolate bars were when they first came out. Nothing to do with the so called depression we are supposed to be experiencing.
