Hi Everyone

I have a get GFAN412T installed in 2009, it has failed.
I was hoping to get a straight replacement which i have found in gil-lec.

But i have taken out my existing one. It has 2 wires and a switch outside the bathroom. But i can not seen a transformer like the one gil-lec are showing.

So do i need this transformer? or was it build in to the 2009 model.

Is there a similar alternative product that does not need a transformer and can can hopefully fit in the same fitting sizes ?

Many Thanks

You should trace the wiring from the fan to the switch and see if the transformer is mounted somewhere - in the ceiling, perhaps.

It would also be an idea to measure the voltage at the fan terminals (with the switch on, of course). If it's 240V AC then there is no transformer hidden away . If it's 12V then there is. (If it's zero, then perhaps the fan itself has not failed but the hidden transformer has).

I doubt they would make such a major change to a product and keep the same model number, so my bet is that there is a transformer tucked away somewhere.
