There is a confused message about Moat, that has happened in the US many times..
Many people see him as an anti-hero, as he took a stand against the 'man', what happens in the US is that a disgruntled employee walks in and kills his employer.
People relate to that either through their daily lives, or watching films, where the anti-hero, is the hero. ie Falling Down, Micheal Douglas, ****ed off, loses his job, wants to see his kids, has a breakdown, puts society to rights, puts his partner at risk, ends up dead. Just like Moat did, he followed the script word for word.
So some see him as a hero, great if he popped a cap in a policeman, even better hero, but the reality of it is that he is a waster, that threatened the general public, as he was unstable, killed his love rival, and injured his ex wife?
There was even more outcry at the burial of Shipman? Let nobody else be burned in this crematorium. Get real. Evil is a word from the bible, a book written after the event, by people that weren't there. A crime is a crime is a crime. There is no evil. Unless you count Evil Canevil, the motorbike jump fail.
