Does anyone know where I can get tonic water without the artificial sweetener, Aspartame? Even non-diet drinks often have it in.

I didn't know the E number for it, it is usually just the name Aspartame, but thanks anyway. :D

Drink it without the tonic :?:

Seriously though, Gin & Tonic is one of my own preferred tipples, but occasionally I vary it for a Gin & Bitter Lemon. Very refreshing! I must concede I do not know if the bitter lemon has less or even more additives, but worth checking out.....

[as an aside, I can also say from experience that gin and coke is not nice - as some of you may know I now have a part-time job in a pub, and a few weeks ago whilst busy I accidentally mixed up a G&T with a vodka & coke... now, of course you can't let them go to waste - the vodka & tonic was fine, but gin and coke just doesn't work.........]

Normal non-diet Schweppes does not have aspartame. It does have saccharine, but I suspect that this is because it's a cheapskate way to add bitterness, quinine being expensive.

But here is the real answer:

Natural Quinine, Cane Sugar, Spring Water, Citric Acid, Natural Flavours.

Fantastic stuff, as is the bitter lemon.

If you stop to think - there's a lot more T than G in a G&T, so the quality of that is more important than the gin..

Gin and wheat beer is also a good mix...

Nice one BAS, gonna have to send 'er in doors to oddbins to get a bottle.
Better have a stiff one waiting for her when she returns (drink, I mean, you smutty man), to help her recover from the price shock...

Incidently, if anyone usually drinks Gordon's gin, it's garbage (way too bitter) - get a bottle of Bombay Sapphire instead.
Cheers ;)
That's what I've currently got....

Tanqueray & Plymouth are also nice.

Waitrose is the nearest to me, hmmm, price shock, do you know roughly the price?

Being teetotal, I want to try difference drink

Have you tried the spanish Gin from the baleariacs  Got a windmill on the bottle and is in @ Waitrose ;)

Dunno about the shops, but Ocado, the online arm of Waitrose charge £2.99 for 4 x 200ml bottles...

Time for one of my favorite Tom Lehrer lines:

"Hearts full of youth, hearts full of truth, 6 parts gin to 1 part vermouth"
