Hi

We are in the process of having fitted two replacement 5-bay UPVC windows with full dummy sashes - dummy sashes both in the top light and bottom pane.

The bedroom window has been fitted and we have now realised how much light has been lost due to choosing 'dummy sashes'.

Does anyone know whether it is possible for a glazer to remove the bottom dummy sash and replace with a normal double glazed unit? Leaving in the dummy sash on the top lights? Or is this impossible and the only way for us to change this would be to start again and buy brand new windows?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yes it is, they will just need to cut some new beads to fit as the sash beads will be too short, the only problem is it'll be externally beaded when the rest of the bay will be internal bead
