IF it gets here, but there are more and more doubts about it (perhaps not eveing crossing the Atlantic again).

Tis all systems go .. The 'return point' has been passed ... Now some distance south and east of southern most tip of greenland ...
They say 200 mile glide from 50k ft... that is impressive, rather a lengthy period to contemplate the cold comfort of the Atlantic tho' if the engine calss it a day .... :D

Expected 5-00 pm Kent (Manston)

Crossing Freddie SW-Ireland soon .... :D

Strumble (Fishguard) Wales begins descent.

Roughly 300 miles to :-

Manston - Nr Ramsgate destination.

I reckon about 10-20 mile North of pip ... Currently blue sky.
Good chance of spotting the flight at about 50 mins (211 miles) after crossing Waterford Ireland.

So off I go to higher ground.

If it's around 5 o'clock I might see it coming over, better view West in the showroom than from home.

Ok, high ground. NE of Bath.

4-17 pm .. 1st heading SE.. High with short vapour trail .. may have digi pix.

4-26 pm .. 2nd V.High silver dot reflecting the sun no vapour trail..

4-33 pm back home ... 3rd Small vapour trail, high flying over the roof plumb on SE I think tis one of the final two spotted .. The last one was plumb on the same heading which the last scheduled Concorde into Heathrow was on ... saw that fly over roof too !!

Not much hope on piccies of first two ... No time to prep camera (flaming slo-blow digi !!) for the final one.
She's on her way folks.
:D :D

If that path is accurate then it was one of the first two I saw and I may have distant pix.
That is not over my roof !!

Looks like Bournemouth then??
Remains to the West of Greenwich, so not Manston.

Mayday eh! Must have spotted my flash !!

:(

so steve is safe on the ground but our pip has gone missing up the side of a mountain, emergency services have been called. ;)
update: he's back and badder than ever.

:D :D

that was Buzz Lightyear.

Pix were obviously not good.. in fact they were no use .. the 'silver dot' remained just that as did the vapour trailed dot ... Even at 10:1 zoom.
Must have been 10-15 miles horizontal and lets say 40k ft at least vertical... About 14'ish miles direct line just too far by half..

Good fun tho', and certain one of the aircraft was the real thing... The time was spot on... No other craft in sight, other than outward bound stuff.
Now if GF had gone for Colern I would have had an exclusive by default.

This Fossett guy is some adventurer.

Buzz Lightyear be buqqered ..... :D :D :D :D
