At the moment my internal woodwork is painted with acrylic, I now want to paint the woodwork with an oil based gloss. Can you please tell me if I can paint over the acrylic with the gloss after a perfunctory rub down or do I need to take all the acrylic off? Thank you.

Have a look at this stuff, I always use it with oil base paints and it is brilliant: INTERNATIONAL WIPE ON MULTI SURFACE PRIMER
