Hi,

We have recently had a GlowWorm 30 sxi installed, I have the following concern.

The programmer has both hot water and heating set to off. However, the boiler seems to be on fairly constantly producing hot water only. The immersion switch is set to off.

There is a termostat on the hotwater tank and another device on one of the pipes (it's a small silver box with a switch on the top made by honeywell). I dont know if one of these is controlling the boiler as well?!

Any advice on why the boiler is doing this would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Always the possibility that your installer has wired it wrong, or maybe they have left the link on the boiler wiring connecters that should be removed when fitting external controls.

It would always appear to heat the HW because the 3 port valve rests in the HW position.

If this is not the case and both sides of the programmer are off and no lights showing then it sounds like the Honeywell valve head is faulty. The microswitch has stuck.

This valve is what actually controls the boiler.

Thanks for the reply Dave.

I am pretty sure the Honeywell value is brand new so I am concluding that maybe the wiring the wrong. Is there anything obvious I can check tsee if this is the case?

Thanks

I dont know any better way than to tediously check ALL the wiring!

In your case I would have thought its better to call back the installer.

A common fault on new installs is to connect the HW cylinder stat reversed.

Rather than mark the comnnections C, NO and NC they prefer to mark them 1,2,3 which means nothing to anyone!
