GLOW-WORM ULTIMATE 60FF BOILER- HOW TO FIT A SALUS RT500RF THERMOSTAT?

Hi everyone, I hope you can help.

I have a Glow-Worm Ultimate 60FF boiler (standard boiler, approx 2.5 yrs old). Today I bought a wireless room thermostat which is a Salus RT500RF.

The manual for my boiler can be found at: -
http://www.glow-worm.co.uk/products/pdf/discontinued/boilers/Ultimate60FF.pdf

The manual for the thermostat can be found at: -
http://www.salus-tech.com/manuals/RT500RF.pdf

On my boiler I have the following connections: -

K2
K2
EARTH
P
PN
9
SL
L
N
EARTH

There was a link between 9 and SL which makes the circulation pump run constantly and boiler manual instructs to remove this when fitting room stat. see page 32

I have wired the boiler and stat up in the following way:

SL on stat to SL on boiler (removing link between 9 and SL, as per manual)
L on stat to L on boiler
N on stat to N on boiler

The stat powers up and works with the wireless controller but it will not fire the boiler up or control it in anyway??? The boiler will only fire up when 9 and SL are connected by the red wire link, and then it is on constantly. (see page 32).

Currently I just have L and N direct to boiler for power, no clock or timer etc.... and also there is not one built into boiler. I chose this Stat as it is a programmable timer etc...

Please can anyone help??

Please see the online user manual but on the room stat you have the following options to wire into, this is the one that Salus technical helpline said to use: -

SL off* (not normally used)
L
SL on
N

There is also a diff option in manual for wiring into the external thermostat loop of a boiler, but i dont think this is suitable for my boiler?: -

L
N
NC (not used)
COM
NO

Thanks in advance, sure it is just a small thing; but is doing my head in slightly!!.

Richard
