Hi guys I've recently moved a rad in the bathroom and as I've gone to refill the system.. I've tried turning the round blue knob at the bottom of the boiler and it just won't turn... looking at all the pictures and videos online this is definitely the filling loop but I just can't turn it is there another way to fill e.g backfill or do I need a special tool? Any help would be much appreciated

If it’s definitely the filling loop, then the plastic may not be engaging, which would usually need the plastic head removing and turning with a spanner, but for confirmation as per Terry, photo please.

Here's what I'm looking at.. many thanks

You'll probably find the plastic knob isn't actually turning the valve, it just spins on it rather than gripping it.
Also, some of those require quite a few turns before the valve actually opens.

Have you ever topped up the pressure on your boiler in the past ?
I am not at all sure that there is a filling loop on your boiler. How old is it ?
There should be two levers on the glow worm 30 cxi ,to open the filling loop ??

It would seem it might be? Although, I can’t see the extension that’s mentioned.

IIRC on this model there is no second valve to open. The blue handle is the extension tool they mention.

Firm grip, turn clockwise when viewed from above, anti from below. Several full turns before you start to hear water passing, not like a conventional filling loop.

I can't get it to turn that's the problem.. I don't want to use grips just incase I snap it.. or should I just get the grips on it
