Hi, Would welcome any advice from anyone to get our boiler going.
It has mains from the programmer upstairs, but on turning the front thermostat on (from off), the fan just gives a short turn (fraction of a second) then nothing. (The fan does run (well it did last time I did anything) because the previous fault was a stuck fan and I wd40'd it and it was ok for the last month). Putting a meter on the fan terminals I get a blip of mains then it goes. On the board, which is a simple little thing, the right hand relay calls at the same time the fan mains goes off. It gives a spark as if it was cutting something. (The fan?)
I checked the air pressure switch for the normally closed. Of course, now I am away from the house I think of other things I didn't check. Would it be the fan taking too much current and not working after all? (didn't think to disconnect it). Didn't think to check there was water in the system (though this is a very remote possibility, it was there recently and where would it have gone!)
Any ideas what it could be? It is so early in the start up sequence.
