Hi all, I've been reading a heap of posts trying to sort this but have lots of "Maybes" for a solution.

This boiler is used solely for central heating.

The problem. can light Pilot light and start boiler (in constant mode) but it will stop after 30-40 mins (I'd assume as it reaches temperate - no room thermostats so controlled by boiler temperature itself). Then it just stops and pilot light goes out.

I've had a couple of Gassafe guys look at it and they just say to replace.

Would it just be a pilot light issue or something else?

Any help or insight greatfully received.

sounds as though it just needs a proper service, very little to go wrong on that old but very reliable boiler

Get the Registered Engineer to check the Boiler Thermostat, as this one has an Overheat Stat configured to kill the pilot my money is on a failed boiler stat!

Thanks Guys, I'll get another GasSafety Plumber as both the guys who looked at it just said - replace.

You need someone who repairs boilers.

Most just want to replace it as that's a bigger job!
