Is this a new or a replacement handset ? Has it ever worked ? What does the external unit look like ?
at the moment it’s wired for electronic call at terminal 0 ( brown wire ) if it’s a replacement handset for an older system it may not support this and may need the brown wire putting in terminal 7 ( AC call )
I seem to remember non powered phones the two incoming wires need to be right way around for the phone to work, the modern cordless phone it does not matter, but the old phones used the capacitor in the master socket to make it ring, and polarity was important.
Bit rude I started with the same notions too.
However I know that some of these units can be used in either dc or ac mode and also incorporated into the internal phone system, so not knowing this device I left it to others.
