Good builders in north london/herts area????????

Best way to find a good builder (or any other tradesman) is word of mouth. Try asking friends / neighbours.

When you find a good one you will tell your friends as you will be so pleased to talk about it, believe me.

there seem to be sooo many people on here it would seem foolish not to ask. Especially as the sort of people on here seem half decent.

Its always nice to get a few quotes as well.

As for word of mouth, its a way of hearing about tradesmen, but definately not a guarantee of them being good. Our next doo neighbour had a "very good" builder did his work for him quick, and did a good job. We were too trusting and had £10,000 stolen from us by him. Not trusting another tradesman till the day I die. If you give them an opportunity to charge you more they will do.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, doesn't mean all tradesman are the same, otherwise you would not get anything done.
