This is good I could get used to it, while I am on the sick my son and grandson are going out to do the work while I am sat in the nice warm house, my son pays me a pension of a £100 a week which I think is jolly good of me letting him do my work, I hope to be back in the swing of things after Christmas, got a lot of new plans.

That's quite a confusing statement? You are retired, but your son pays your retirement, and also works for you? You are on DLA, but get extra? How do you fill in your tax returns?

Mick,
You're not quite with me, let me explain, I am not on DLA or JSA I am officially retired and in receipt of my legal state retirement pension having paid in my 40 years NIC's.
On retiring I kept a certain number of jobs on to keep me occupied and to bring in some money for incidentals and to eke out my pension.
When I said I was on the "Sick" I did not mean that I was claiming sickness benefit off the state, the paid work that I do for myself is perfectly legit as all retired people have a tax free allowence and as long as they dont go over that allowence they dont even have to declare it to the inland revenue, you dont have to pay any NIC's either as you have already paid your dues.
The "pension" my son pays me is made up of a percentage of "my" work that he does and he pays me for the use of my equipment and the hire of my van and trailer.
Basically he has added my work onto his work schedule so he gets a bite and I get a bite with no fiddling of state welfare benefits all legal and above board.
At the end of the day I am 69 and still earning my own corn at no cost to the tax payer, a lot of people say that I should retire properly, Why? if you are fit and able to work then why not?
Hope this explains things?

No need to explain your personal circumstances Malcolm, sorry I raised the question.
