Good use of cannabis

When I was in hospital I was given Heroin and Morphine, which are also illegal if traded on the street. So provided that cannabis can be shown to have medicinal properties, I don't see why it shouldn't be prescribed with proper controls; then patients would not need to be involved with the criminal market.

Is the problem that it is hasn't been proved through the same testing criteria as other drugs? I thought Pharma companies had been developing and testing it?

It has been tested and used in the medical industry for yrs you just don't recognize the name it's sold under such as marinol.

you mean it is avaialble as a prescription drug?

how does this sit with the woman saying she has to buy it on the criminal market?

The people that are buying on the criminal market are smoking it.
ie getting as high as a kite.

but what you get on prescription is different forms of cannabis say Sativex
which is used for ms suffurers and uses 2 extracts from cannabis and is sprayed into the mouth but don't give the same results as smoking cannabis.

So if you want to be as high as a kite you need to smoke it so only available on the criminal market in that form.

The doctor was explaining the lung damage, for obvious reasons.
So why don't medicinal cannabis users (Illegally, at the moment), just fire a few spacecakes down their necks.?
Never understood it.
Surely it's less obvious (police wise) to bake a few cakes laced with cannabis, put them in a pack lunch box, and then munch on 'em all day long, and NO lung damage.

I've got nothing against cannabis use.........I don't do it myself, but each to their own.

Methadone is prescribed to heroin addicts at the mo............So I'm f*cked if I know who draws the line.......when it comes to prescribing what drugs to who , for what, when, and whether its worthy.

Legalise it. It's the only way, I think.

I don't think any Government would do a U-turn to make any illegal drug legal, or vice versa, make cigarettes or alcohol illegal (like cheaper cigarettes, or 40% alcohol), but having said that, Speed was prescribed in the '60's I think? As a slimming aid, and methodone is widely prescribed to addicts. Cannabis has been clinically trialled, and still is, and proven to benefit people, with less cancer risks than cigarettes, THEY just demonise people into giving up, ie no smoking ban, but the knock on is pubs are closing. Anything in moderation can be good, but there are idiots that take everything to excess. Except the 5 a day freaks. I'm sure eating all that fibre would eventually turn into a raspberry?
