I have Nest, and a wife who loves gadgets, she seems for ever to be talking to her phone saying google this or google that, so sure she would love a Christmas present where she can adjust heating or lights or sockets by shouting a command.

It would also be good for me not having to obey all her commands.

However I have Nest Gen 3 and Energenie TRV heads which should work together once linked turning the thermostat up/down should also turn heads up/down, but it is rather poor, works OK if turned up/down with phone, but if PC or schedule or turning the thermostat dial is used, it often fails to follow, so boiler cycling on/off as TRV's still closed.

So not so keen at getting another Google item which may do the same, I have now removed the link and set valves to same schedule as Nest and no longer rely on the link.

So do these Goolge units work OK or not?

I've got all of them except the home max. I really like them for timers in the kitchen. They also make top notch digital photo Frames if you have Google photo albums.

Will they control your devices? I'm not sure, the best bet would be to pick up a cheap Nest mini (as they are now called) and give it a try.
